Our approach to employee development is embedded firmly throughout. Evidence can be seen in our business plan and training plan, both of which are informed by the needs of the sector and the organisation but which encourage individual aspiration.
Employee development is important to our organisation for a number of reasons
· Investment in employees gives them a sense of place and value within the organisation – employees who feel valued work harder and to higher standards than those who do not. This has a positive impact on service delivery
· Relevant high quality training means that our staff feel equipped to do what is often a difficult and demanding job.
· We are able to offer added value when tendering for new business
· Training offers opportunities to share good practice and identify gaps in organisation or sector wide knowledge which in turn impacts on service delivery
· Offering a comprehensive induction and training package is an excellent recruitment tool
· Because we are able to offer training which is enabling and conducive to development we are able to offer employment opportunities to individuals who may otherwise be excluded from our field of work.
Or intention is that all our staff be developed to their full potential and that we offer a comprehensive training plan with transferable qualifications which are relevant to our field of work. Investment in staff pays high dividends in terms of service delivery; this is something we strongly believe in.
All our staff our teams go through rigorous induction and training to ensure that they are equipped to carry out their roles. This will continue and be further developed as we constantly strive to involve staff at all levels in as many aspects of the business as possible. We hope to give an accurate picture of where each individual fits into the organisational structure, where we are going and how we aim to get there.
We also deliver training to the people that use our services. This can range from Confidence Building to Skills for Interviewers. We facilitate small group learning in an environment of trust and familiarity which enables service users to build their self-confidence, improve communication skills and increase personal effectiveness, this will go some way to help the service user realise and unlock their own potential.
We aim to lift aspirations so that service users can develop for themselves a personal development plan which will enable them to establish a home and live responsibly in society.
