Tenant Services

Action Housing and Support are a registered provider of social housing. The majority of our stock is used to provide supported housing; however we are currently expanding our general needs units across the majority of the areas we work in. We let these units to individuals and families who find themselves in housing need.

General needs properties are available in the following areas:

  • Derby City
  • Derbyshire (Chesterfield, Bolsover and NE Derbyshire)
  • Rotherham

They are accessed either via the local Choice Based Lettings scheme or by direct application. Our application form is available to download here.
 

Repairs

Our properties are maintained and repaired by either our in-house maintenance team or one of our contracting partners. We aim to ensure all of our properties are maintained at a high standard and meet all of the legislative rules and guidance with regards to Health and Safety. Our ethos is to provide you with a Home not a house.

Complaints

Nobody gets it right all of the time, at Action Housing and Support we appreciate feedback from our tenants whether good or bad. It helps us to improve our services to you and future tenants. We use these values to provide an offer to you which is:

  • We will continue to focus on your needs and provide support services, where required, that are meaningful and appropriate to you.
  • We will treat you with Courtesy, Respect, in a non-judgemental manner and maintain your confidentiality
  • We will provide accommodation that meets the needs of clients refereed and accepted onto our schemes.
  • We will publish our Lettable standards and ensure this standard is achieved for every new occupant.
  • We will deliver support, where required, to an agreed individual plan and review this support plan on a 3 monthly basis.
  • We will complete repairs and or servicing within the published timescale
  • We will attend pre-arranged appointments
  • We will offer the opportunity to comment, complain or compliment us on all areas of our work, putting things right if we have made a mistake and learning from this to improve our services
  • We will actively work in Partnership with Local Authorities, the Police and other agencies to protect the rights of our clients and the rights of the wider community.
  • We will actively engage with all sectors of the community to make our services accessible
  • We will provide details of this offer in the handbook that all clients receive at the start of support or when moving into accommodation.
  • We will offer the opportunity for all clients to be actively involved in the way we deliver our services on all levels.
  • We will publish an annual report to clients on our performance against this offer.

 

This Offer will be reviewed in August each year by our Service User Involvement Group who will at that time have received our Annual Report.
